Synopsis

This work is triggered by the assassination of iranian general Qasem Soleimani by the United States, under the orders of President Donald Trump. From there, a bibliographic review is made related to the journalistic discussions about objectivity, market and agenda-setting, in addition to communication as culture, manipulation and the phenomenon of post-truth. Everything, having as object of a content analysis the coverage carried out by CNN in Spanish on its Twitter account, focusing, mainly, on the narrative and semantic construction. In this context, it was possible to identify the subjectivity of the pro-United States and anti-Iran journalistic discourse, mainly based on features characteristic of the post-truth, with the purpose of manipulating public opinion, mainly western.
